Damask fever!

Or is it "Dance Fever?" :) Well, you probably know by now I love all things ornate and pretty, and damask designs are no exception...just look at these gorgeous pillows I found on-line...

I'm not usually one for blue, but check this one out here along with the free damask wallpaper downloads:
Such a pretty spring color for a Damask pillow...who said Damask had to be stuffy? You can find this one here:
Thomas Paul Linen Damask pillow:And a more contemporary chocolate Damask pillow by Target:
These really get my juices flowing! How about you? Well, one of my very favorite stamps by Melissa Frances just happens to be this gorgeous Damask stamp that I used on the following clear glass frame...I wanted to create an etched glass sort of look, so I took an old frame and removed the back behind the glass. I used acrylic paint on the stamp and stamped directly onto the front of the glass. After dry, I added the rub on sayings over the top and pearl and resin accents. The photo and ribbon are adhered from the back. Then after the glass piece was finished, I hot glued the glass around the inside of the frame, so I didn't have to put the backing back on. I love how you could prop it up on a shelf and it will take on the background color of wherever you put it.I can't wait to make some of these for gifts. They are really easy and a lot of fun. If you mess up, just wipe the glass clean or let dry and scrape the paint off with a razor blade (carefully).
(Hey look! A red damask pillow in the background of the photo! ha)

I just received my newest special recycling issue of Paper Crafts Magazine and I was tickled pink to have a layout published in this one! Look at the transparency used for the background...more damask! This is the Pop Fashion overlay by Pink Paislee and it is printed using soy based inks and a polyester material that is 100% recycled. Very cool!I love that it's silver, so you can mix it with any other colors! (Pics are of my little Kati, her curls just woo me!)
So I have a couple extra copies of this issue, if you'd like one, please leave me a comment and tell me a scrappy trend you are really into right now! I'll choose 2 winners sometime this weekend and might just throw in an extra thing or two. Thanks so much for taking the time to visit,

That frame is beautiful and is a perfect project that I'd love to do with some of my friends! Hope you don't mind if we lift your idea! And Kati's curls woo me too! What a doll! Right now I'm loving my embossing powders again, especially the clear ones for the tone on tone effect. If I win the magazine will you sign my copy?!

I don't know if it's a scrappy trend, but I got a Silhouette CraftROBO two weeks ago and I've gone a little nutty with the flourishes and damask (yes, I'm a junkie, too!) cuts, making cards and backgrounds for LO.

What a great idea to recyle old frames! I will be doing this very soon. My favorite thing right now is layering. I especially love the way layering flowers gives my layout so much depth.
